Garlic Butter Steak Bites with Potatoes (Easy, Weight Watchers-Friendly Dinner)

This is one of those meals I make when I need something quick, filling, and still aligned with my weight loss.

It feels like a “real dinner,” not diet food—and my kids will actually eat it. That alone makes it a repeat in our house.

The best part? Most of this meal is 0 points on Weight Watchers, so I can have a generous portion and still stay on track.

Why this works in real life

  • Takes about 20 minutes

  • Filling and high protein

  • Most of it is 0 points (depending on how you make it)

  • Easy to adjust portions without making separate meals

  • Kids will actually eat it

Ingredients (about 3 servings)

Steak and Potatoes:

  • 3 sirloin steaks, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 1 package Little Potato Company potatoes

  • 1 t garlic salt

  • 1 t seasoning salt

  • 1 t salt

  • 1 t pepper

Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp parmesan

  • 1 tbsp garlic parmesan sauce (I use Buffalo Wild Wings brand)

  • 1 tsp garlic

Optional sides

  • Side salad

  • Broccoli

  • Green beans

  • Any veggie you have on hand

Directions

  1. Cut potatoes in half and toss with garlic salt and seasoning salt

  2. Cook potatoes in air fryer at 400° for about 12 minutes (shake halfway)

  3. Cut steak into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper

  4. Cook steak:

    • Air fryer: 400° for ~7–8 minutes (shake halfway)

      OR cook in a skillet

  5. Toss steak in garlic butter sauce immediately after cooking

Weight Watchers Points (Approximate)

This is why I love this meal so much:

  • Steak: 0 points

  • Potatoes: 0 points

  • Sauce: about 3 points total

👉 I usually have about 1.5 servings, and it still fits into my day easily.

Points may vary slightly based on brands and portions.

How I make this work for weight loss

I don’t do anything extreme—I just keep it realistic:

  • I don’t hold back on potatoes since they’re 0 points

  • I focus on protein so I stay full

  • I keep the sauce controlled (that’s where the points are)

  • I’ll add a veggie if I need more volume

This is one of those meals that helps me stay consistent without feeling restricted.

Real life note

This isn’t a “perfect” meal—and that’s exactly why it works.

It’s simple, it’s filling, and it’s something I can make on a busy night without overthinking it.

And if my kids eat it without complaining… it’s staying in the rotation.
